twenty seven years.

I am now 27.  (I have been for almost a month but we won't talk about how long it's been since I had a good post. :)  My birthday consisted of sleeping in...

Shopping for some new clothes--I can't tell you how long it's been since I went shopping---for normal sized clothes that is!  We went to dinner at Olive Garden--seems to be the theme for my birthday, I think we've been there for the last 3 of them!

Connel even made me a birthday cake...step aside Cake Boss!

My bro reminded me that it was my first birthday as a mommy! Yay!
But, hey, where's the baby? She's definitely not taking the picture... oh yeah, she was getting loved by the friends who joined in on the cupcake decorating.  They didn't even mind that I hung out in my Jammies!

babies don't keep.

Mother, oh Mother,
come shake out your cloth,
empty the dustpan,
poison the moth,
hang out the washing
and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house
is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery,
blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little
Boy Blue (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done
and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing
will wait till tomorrow,
for Children grow up,
as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs.
Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep......

something's gotta change when.

...you wake up in ther morning, walk into the bathroom with squinty eyes, bedhead, and a not-so-good nights rest, and the first thing you see is this:

...which, I have to admit, wouldn't have been so bad (Go-od MORning to me!) but then I realized that I was looking...

...in the mirror.
(note: minus blood and facial hair, ok, fine...minus the blood.)

So, I made a change.

A good friend, some highlights and a pair of scissors later...

(Compliments: Haylie H.)

...and although the squinty eyed-bedheaded me/Sawyer may still be the result of a sleepless night...most days I try to end up looking like this (even if it takes me till 3 in the afternoon).
