| On Ellis Island, we saw many exhibits within the building, but I was intrigued by this one...so many religions and cultures came into America during the time immigrants were coming through Ellis Island. I was just boggled thinking about how many languages, religions and cultures make up our country--make up who we are! |

| People would end up waiting weeks, even months to go through tests and examinations, and waiting for loved ones to recover from sickness to stay in America. They filled their time by drawing on the walls. These are original drawings! |

| You had to have some sort of contract to come over to America, so women would sign marriage contracts to come over. Kind of like mail order brides...lots of them would come over, be admitted and meet their prospective husbands---then change their mind! Tee hee! This is a picture of a woman being introduced to her future husband. Awkward! |

Short story...We went to the Gift shop at the Statue of Liberty. We realized that the ferry we needed to be on would be leaving soon so we decided to hurry and buy our souvenir. As we were walking out of the gift shop into a large common area of people, I started to go down the stairs...The key word there is STARTED. I ended up tripping over my own feet somehow (Hannah in my arms) and biffed it down the stairs!!! I landed with my knees and shins on the corner of brick steps and my chest flat on the pavement. I heard a little knock on the ground and Hannah was crying so I was so scared that she had hit her head on the hard ground! Both Connel and the other guy that came to help said that she didn't hit her head, but I could have sworn she did. She recovered quickly with little complaining, Connel said it could have been my camera...which although it is not equally important as my child, I was still a little worried about too! But all of us are just fine with no lasting effects...besides the bruises on my knees and shins that lasted for about 3 weeks afterward!

Then, we proceed to get all ready and dressed up and ask a random stranger to take our photo...and he tells us that it's 5 bucks for US to take a photo with OUR camera. Pbth! Oh well, here's five to add to your that stash of hundreds of fives in your sleeve! |

| Double Check. This statue was pulled from the rubble of 9/11. Liberty park was rebuilt and he was put back into his spot dents, bruises and all as a reminder of endurance and hope. |

The following pictures are from the Tribute World Trade Center Museum. This is a must see if you go to NY. Very touching, tragic, and meaningful.
I realize that this is a part of history, yet a part of MY history. In fact, the morning it happened, my Mom woke me up and told me that I
was missing history (be sleeping through it)! I hope that I will remember to teach my children about this sad day...but also about how our country was united and strong at this tragic time.

We were blessed to be able to stay with our friends parents in New Jersey. They were very welcoming and hospitable! We loved them and they were truly a highlight from our trip! Thank you soooo much for letting us stay!
I realize that in order to see everything you want to in NY...you'd have to stay there for AT LEAST a week. I think we'll just have to go back!
The excitement ensues as we travel to Massachusetts and the Boston area to spend Thanksgiving with my SISTER! BAAAAAAAAAA!
