idaho trip december 2008 {part 2}.

Connel is not usually into reading novels, or any books for that matter. Normally, he spends a few months on one book, or ends up asleep with the book over his face! But, spending a little to much time with a family of avid readers, he got sucked in...really sucked in. He read an entire 370 page novel in 2 days! Go baby go! Sounds a little funny, but, I was so proud of my honey!

This is a sight that I might never see again...(especially with the kitty in his lap! :)

If you're wondering what book he read, it's Tell No One by Harlan Coben. I read it in September, it's a suspense/thriller.

Another highlight of our vacation home was my sister Alicia's kitty...it was the CRAZIEST cat I have ever seen! It was jumping (and I mean JUMPING!) and batting at every thing that moved...actually... just everything! It was really cute. It is infatuated with water...It fell in the toilet 3 or more times while we were there and every time I turned the water on in the sink in the bathroom that silly kitty was up on the vanity trying to drink the water. One night it was running around the house at full speed...the next thing we know it is barreling through the kitchen, skidding around the corner and clawing its way under the dishwasher! Don't ask me how it got UNDER the dishwasher!?! The cute little thing also sat upon our shoulders when we held it. It was quite the source of entertainment!

We went bowling on Monday. My little neice Tessa even bowled! She was so cute! I helped her with her bowling ball, we had so much fun watching her reaction! She loved to watch the bowling balls roll back up track!

My mom won the first game we played. She ended the game with a STRIKE! Then, I think it was my little brother that won the second game we played.

We also played a really funny game called CURSES.
This is the jist of the game...draw a card...act like a dork, then...draw another card and give it to someone else so they can act like a dork on their next turn or just randomly throughout the game... I didn't post the videos I took because I am saving them for blackmail purposes.
(and because I didn't want to scare Tessa again...)

idaho trip december 2008 {part 1}.

For the last week and a half we have been in Idaho and Oregon. First, we went to Idaho to see my family! We had so much fun! I love being with my family and we were ALL TOGETHER! (minus two little cuties!) But we had all the siblings there together! It had been awhile and we had a lot of fun.

On Thursday night (Dec 4th) we had a big campfire and roasted hot dogs in my parent back yard. It was cold... but worth the fun!

We didn't have much time to go see many people (because we were having to much fun with our family, sorry everybody else that we didn't get to go say hi to! We'll have to catch you next time! ;)

However, we did get to stop and see our good friends Brooke and Steve and their little girl Emily---she is such a cutie!

I am going to have to do this in several parts but don't worry there is still more to come on the Idaho and Oregon fun!

Last Monday Night we played some games for Family Home Evening. We have a lot of games in our game closet, but rarely break them out. So we got out Jenga and Scrabble. First it was Jenga...Connel lost...



Then it was Scrabble (usually Connel is not into the word/definition/spelling-type games such as MAD GAB and Apples to Apples... He is a strategy type game player.) But this time, he won
This is how the game ended.

He won on his first turn...it was funny how he laid them out... I did HATE, then he added an S. Then he added ING to the S. When I thought that was the end of it, he finished his turn and all 7 of his tiles by spelling TOSSING.

He was pretty proud of himself. (in the beginner game you are supposed to get 70 pts to win.) He won.


THANKSGIVING

We were invited to our friends Kim and Brian's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. It was sooo yummy! Kim had these really cute centerpeices that she made. She went ALL OUT! She made NINE desserts...6 of them were pies! Connel and Brian decided to see if they could eat the most and tried ALL of the desserts!

...it was SOOO good. It seems like the movies lately had been really BLAH. But, this was seriously the most fantastic movie I have seen lately. (and Hugh Jackman wasn't so bad either ;) You Twilighters are missing out...
